Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. The successful actress began her career in acting in the theatre by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The actress is a lover of acting from the time she was in high school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of Mumps, but she didn't permit this to deter her determination to become an actress. In her early years, she took classes in drama at the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she was trapped in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. She moved to Los Angeles and tried to find movie parts. The film, Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. In the three decades since she was a part of the film, Holly Hunter has been in many films, TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to the Women in Film Lucy Award.
